9:30 AM – The pre-parade activities will begin with a welcome and a few announcements.
9:35 - 10:50 AM - Guests will be treated to a variety of musical performances and a western reenactment by the Julian Doves & Desperados.
10:55 AM - Two pie-eating contests: 5 adults and 5 kids. Participants can sign-up beginning at 10:00 am at the main stage.
11:10 - 11:55 AM - Musical performances, History with George Washington and rendering honors.
At Noon – Enjoy watching a fly-over of vintage airplanes and the National Anthem will be played. The parade begins as soon as the National Anthem is completed and the enormous American Flag has been carried, by the audience, down Main Street. Those who want to participate in carrying the flag, should meet at the corner of C and Main Streets.
Commemorative T-Shirts
While you wait for the parade to begin you may want to purchase an annual Julian July 4th
commemorative T-shirt being sold at locations along Main Street. Each shirt is $20 and proceeds go towards next year's parade. Please help support the Julian 4th of July Parade by purchasing a T-shirt!
(When they sell out they are gone forever)
After the parade, spend the day enjoying other events that day in Julian:
The historic quilt show put on by the Julian Woman’s Club as well as a raffle for a one of a kind quilt designed by the queen of quilt making, Eleanor Burns.
A mouth watering, deep pit barbecue and dance for $15.00 per person. Hosted by the American Legion, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. There will be live music until 8:00 pm.
The merchants will be open after the parade for your shopping and eating enjoyment.
Our parade is quite popular so it is suggested that you arrive early to catch the pre-parade activities that start at 9:30 am. Some parade “goers“ set out chairs the night before to enable them to get a good spot.
Please note that Main Street closes to traffic at 9:00 am. Follow directions to the nearest parking lot. FREE Public toilets are available at the old bank parking lot and behind the town hall.
